LIGHTHOUSE BEACH (12X36")
This painting is one of my first paintings accepted for publication and holds great sentimental value to me because of this fact. It is loosely based on the south jetty surfing beach in Venice, and my wave knowledge accumulated from years of surfing in the Sarasota area. The lighthouse itself is an idealized version of the famous Hatteras Lighthouse.
OLD POLAND (16X20”)
This painting was inspired by my polish wife Maria, and a classic polish movie, Noce i Dnie, nights and days. Poland is a beautiful, and friendly country that I’ve grown to love. The beauty of it’s history and culture is reflected throughout the people and landscape.
It’s been said that sometimes a painting will paint itself, this was the case here. From start to finish, everything flowed smoothly and quickly. This is a record of an event ,a memory, an experience, and tribute to a special place and time. This will always be a sp ecial treasure to me.
River willows is again Polish inspired and full of pleasant memories and emotion. Maria and I have a small house in Poland and as often as possible we try to visit . These times are full of family and friends and of course painting.
This painting was inspired by the countryside around the village of Tworkowa, and memories from scenes painted there.
