Giclee prints are in the finest Tradition of European printmaking in that the prints are made individually rather than mass produced by a photo mechanical method as are the majority of today prints. This affords greater control and allows the artist to establish smaller editions of each print, assuring quality and value. Individual prints can be created with the exact size and color specifications required of each collector.
During the Giclee process, a hi-resolution digitized portrait of the original artwork is created and from this i nformation a computer controls the printing process. A fine droplet of ink is sprayed, (hence the word giclee-to spray), onto archival canvas to exactly reproduce the original in color and texture. The computer can produce a combination of over 3 million possible colors of highly-saturated, nontoxic water-based ink displaying a full color spectrum resulting in the rich velvety feel and tonality of a fine oil painting with the luminosity of a watercolor.
Artist enhanced giclee prints offer the unique opportunity to obtain a one of a kind reproduction that can be ordered in almost any size and color corrected to fit the specific needs of your decor. The original artist performs the entire enhancement ensuring the creative and artistic integrity of each piece.
Each finished print is protected with an extra strength UV coating to insure museum quality and collector standards. The limited edition is then hand signed and numbered by the artist on both the front and back of each piece and is accomplanied with a certificate of authenticity.
Giclee prints have gained worldwide acceptance by the art community and offer a high quality low cost alternative to the art lover.
